Founded in 1982

Chief Instructor Chris Perry was awarded his 7th Dan by silver screen legend Silvio Simac on behalf of the BNMAA (British National Martial Arts Association)

Having started his journey at the age of 7 in Judo and Boxing, Chris has never stopped developing his knowledge and ability within the Martial Arts. 

 

Chris has an encyclopaedic list of awards and honours for his ability and deeds within the Martial Arts.

Most notable of Chris' instructors are Sifu Simon Lau - Wing Chun (student of Ip Man and Bruce Lee), Lee Fei Long - Jeet Kune Do (student of Bruce Lee), and Prof. Robert Clark, 9th Dan - World Jiu Jitsu Federation.

Chris' accolades have been earned in a life dedicated to the Martial Arts, having been a competitor in numerous Martial Arts bouts, a combat instructor in the British Army, having been an ABA boxing coach, and having attained more black belts in more styles of Martial Arts than would fit on one website.

Chris has written, illustrated and released two best selling books about his journey through the arts "Surviving the Martial Arts" Vol I & II, and has also released two series of DVD's "Kali Masterclass Series" on Single Stick Disarms & Knife Defence.

WOFA has been active in helping the community having helped raise money for local charities, giving self-defence lessons to various groups within the community such as women's self-defence​ as well as to numerous schools and security organisations.

The assistant instructor to Chris, Sensei Rob Drew started Martial Arts at the age of 12 with Karate and has been with WOFA since 2005, studying Japanese Jiu Jitsu and Kali under Sensei Chris. 

Sensei Rob regularly cross trains across various striking, grappling and situational based arts including Judo, BJJ and Muay Thai.

Sensei Rob has also pursued his passion of the Martial Arts into the Physical Training side and has attained many exercise certificates up to REPS L3 (Personal Trainer level) alongside Strength & Conditioning certificates.
